easyJet: profit plunge as higher fuel costs and cautious demand squeeze earnings amid Middle East conflict

easyJet reported a 70% slump in pre-tax profits to £85 million for the three months to 30 June, citing a £105 million fuel-cost surcharge and demand uncertainty. Its fiscal third-quarter operating profit fell by more than two-thirds after the Iran war increased fuel costs by £105 million and reduced customer demand.
