The U.S. Justice Department has admitted federal liability for the Jan. 29, 2025 collision near Reagan National Airport that killed 67, acknowledging failures by the Army and FAA. DOJ said the Black Hawk crew failed to maintain visual separation and the tower controller did not follow FAA procedures.
