On March 16, 1926 Robert H. Goddard, assisted by his wife Esther, launched the first liquid‑fueled rocket from his aunt’s farm in Massachusetts — a roughly two‑second flight that launched modern rocketry. The AIAA has released a special collection marking the centenary.
