FAA proposes rule to restrict drone flights over critical infrastructure; operators can seek no-fly zones around sensitive sites
The FAA has published a notice of proposed rulemaking to restrict unmanned aircraft operations over key critical infrastructure facilities. The proposal would also allow critical infrastructure operators to apply for site-specific drone flight restrictions, with enforcement actions for violators ranging from fines to criminal charges and potential license loss.
