House Appropriators advance FY2027 defense bill: $55.5B for Space Force, cuts to Air Force working capital, and $300M add for FA

The House Appropriations Committee marked up its fiscal 2027 defense spending bill at a $1.07 trillion topline, advancing a version that includes $55.5 billion for the U.S. Space Force alongside a cut to the Air Force working capital fund. Appropriators also flagged the Trump administration’s “risky” reliance on uncertain reconciliation funding for munitions and F-35, while pulling forward $300 million to fund the Air Force Family of Mass Missiles (FAMM) at $355 million in FY2027.
