China folds Chang’e robotics into crewed lunar plans to target astronaut landings by 2030; NASA counters with Artemis rover sour
China is integrating its Chang’e robotic lunar activities into its human spaceflight program to support a lunar astronaut landing by 2030. In parallel, NASA for Artemis has selected Venturi Astrolab and Lunar Outpost to supply crewed lunar terrain vehicles for a 2028 surface return, while student teams are building moon-robot prototypes through the 2026 Lunabotics Challenge.
