HAL and Safran sign contract to develop Aravalli engine for India’s 13-ton IMRH

Hindustan Aeronautics and Safran Helicopter Engines have signed a contract through their Indian joint venture to develop the Aravalli turboshaft engine. The powerplant is intended for India’s planned 13-ton Indian Multi-Role Helicopter, which is being developed to replace the country’s long-serving Mi-17 fleet.
