India clears ₹1.1 trillion defense package spanning hypersonic missiles, fighter upgrades and warship engines

India’s Defence Acquisition Council has approved proposals worth ₹1.1 lakh crore, taking defense approvals this year to ₹1.6 lakh crore and those since 2025 to ₹13 lakh crore. The package includes long-range hypersonic missiles, Su-30MKI upgrades, new Dhruv helicopters, mine-laying systems and indigenous warship engines, while HAL advances robotic Tejas wing production.
