Air India flight to Vancouver returns to Delhi after airline dispatches wrong 777 variant

An Air India Delhi–Vancouver service was forced back to Delhi after more than seven hours airborne when the Boeing 777‑200LR the airline sent lacked the regulatory clearance and route-specific emergency-oxygen configuration required for entry into Canadian airspace. The aircraft landed safely and later departed with passengers.
