Frontier posts surprise Q3 profit as higher fares offset fuel costs

Frontier Group reported an adjusted third-quarter profit above its guidance and Wall Street estimates, while saying average airfare rose 71% as it sought to pass through higher jet-fuel costs. The carrier lowered its earnings outlook despite revenue growth, but forecast a smaller-than-expected fourth-quarter loss or a modest profit.
