Honeywell proposes 25% F-35 cooling upgrade to address overheated electronics

Honeywell Aerospace is pitching the P40 upgrade to the Lockheed Martin F-35’s existing power and thermal management system, promising a 25% increase in onboard cooling capacity. The company says the interim upgrade could be rolled out in three to four years; a separate announcement cites a 40 kW PTMS upgrade.
