Sweden awards ~$141M sovereign ISR contracts to ICEYE and Planet Labs; SAR and optical satellites due 2026

Sweden’s Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed multi‑year sovereign imagery contracts—about $141m—to ICEYE for a Synthetic Aperture Radar satellite capability and to Planet Labs for high‑resolution optical tasking and data services. The radar and optical satellites are due to begin deliveries and sovereign tasking access in 2026.
