GAO: U.S. Navy Zumwalt-CPS hypersonic integration running ~24 months late; missile production and quality issues persist
A Government Accountability Office report says the Navy is roughly two years behind schedule installing the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) hypersonic capability on three Zumwalt-class destroyers. GAO also cites manufacturing and quality-control challenges limiting Lockheed Martin’s ability to reach planned CPS production rates.
