USAF awards GE–Kratos and Honeywell small‑turbofan development deals; GEK1500 preliminary design to support CCA

The U.S. Air Force has awarded development contracts to GE Aerospace with Kratos and to Honeywell to advance small turbofan engines for Expendable Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). GE–Kratos will complete the GEK1500 preliminary design, leveraging GEK800 maturation to meet aggressive performance and cost targets.
