Delta cuts profit outlook as fuel costs surge despite resilient travel demand

Delta’s third-quarter net profit nearly halved as fuel costs rose sharply, including a $500 million bill above the carrier’s July estimate. The airline also cut its 2026 profit forecast by nearly a quarter, citing fuel costs that could add $6 billion to its annual bill, while saying demand remains strong.
