NASA moves to accelerate lunar base buildout with new Artemis landing contracts and payload delivery awards

NASA is considering sending the full-scale engineering model of the Perseverance rover to the Moon to speed south-pole exploration. In parallel, the agency awarded new Artemis Moon Base landing contracts, selected additional companies for robotic lunar landers, and previewed a potential nuclear-powered rover mission (“PROMISE”) while engaging Astrobotic, Firefly Aerospace and Intuitive Machines for lunar payload delivery.
