UK investigators: Malta Air 737 landed at Manchester with critically low fuel after diversion was wrongly rejected

A Malta Air Boeing 737-800 operating for Ryanair Group reached Manchester with critically low fuel after aborting approaches during a Scottish storm. UK investigators found the aircraft had earlier been erroneously denied permission to divert to Manchester, turning an airport-handling error into a serious safety event.
