Riyadh airport reopens after two-week shutdown as Houthis renew threat

King Khalid International Airport resumed domestic and international flights Sunday after a closure of about two weeks following Houthi attacks. The reopening came hours before the Iran-aligned group renewed its warning that the airport was a “military target”; passengers were urged to check flight status with airlines.

Riyadh Air is No Longer Based in Riyadh: Airline Relocates to Airport 400 km North to Keep Limited Flights Operating

By Paddle Your Own Kanoo: Saudi Arabia’s new multi-billion-dollar airline, Riyadh Air, is no longer operating out of the city which it is named after, with the carrier moving some of its state-of-the-art Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners 400 km northwest to the city of Al Qassim, so that it can restart some flights to key destinations.
