Lufthansa to raise ITA Airways stake to 90% with €325m majority acquisition slated for Q1 2027

Lufthansa Group will exercise its call option to increase its ITA Airways holding from 41% to 90% via a further 49% stake purchase for €325 million. Majority completion is expected in Q1 2027, further consolidating ITA’s role as the group’s fifth network airline. In parallel, the group is ordering additional long-haul aircraft—20 aircraft comprising A350-900s and Boeing 787-9s.
