French investigators urge pilots to practice ballistic‑recovery parachute deployment before flight
French safety investigators recommend pilots of light aircraft—notably Cirrus SR20/SR22 and some Elixir and Bristell models—routinely simulate ballistic‑recovery parachute deployment before flight. Their analysis of accidents in which parachutes were not activated says rehearsal and emphasis on deployment can improve in‑flight decision‑making and survivability.
