Heathrow has finished a £1 billion rollout of computed tomography (CT) scanners across all terminals, allowing passengers to carry liquids in up to two‑litre containers and leave laptops in hand luggage. The upgrade aims to speed security throughput, cut queue times and plastic‑bag use, though installations exposed inconsistent rules and confusion.
