Air India captain deplaned in Vancouver after failing alcohol test; RCMP probe opened

On Dec. 23, 2025 a Boeing 777 captain scheduled to operate Air India Flight AI186 (Vancouver–Vienna–Delhi) was deplaned and removed from duty after Canadian authorities said he failed an alcohol test and was "unfit for duty." The RCMP detained the crew member and the airline opened an inquiry.
