Google wins $10 million auction for Spirit Airlines’ operational data and software code

Google has acquired Spirit Airlines’ deidentified business data and software code for $10 million through the carrier’s bankruptcy auction. The assets include emails, Teams messages, pricing and operating records, maintenance history, disruption data and code repositories, which Google plans to use to improve its artificial intelligence systems.
