Navi Mumbai International Airport opens for commercial operations as IndiGo lands inaugural Bengaluru flight
Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) commenced commercial operations on 25 December 2025 when an IndiGo flight from Bengaluru touched down at 08:00, followed by an inaugural departure to Hyderabad. The Adani-developed facility — greeted by Gautam Adani and a water salute — is planned to reach a 90 million-passenger capacity to ease chronic congestion at Mumbai's existing airport.
