Electra, Bristow Group, airport operator Avinor and CAA Norway plan demonstration flights with Electra’s EL2 hybrid-electric technology demonstrator at five locations across Norway in 2027. The program will test the aircraft in a range of operating environments, building on Electra’s recent instrument-procedure trials in Virginia.

European regulators told industry that targets requiring airlines to use sustainable aviation fuel will remain in place, rejecting calls for the mandates to be reconsidered. The Commission’s position keeps the EU’s mandated SAF uptake trajectory intact, leaving airlines and fuel suppliers to plan against the existing requirements.
