First real-time detection of a lithium plume from a Falcon 9 reentry

Researchers captured the first real-time measurements of metal pollution from a SpaceX Falcon 9 upper-stage reentry, identifying a lithium-rich cloud at roughly 96 km altitude. The observation provides direct evidence that routine reentries deposit vaporized metals into the pristine upper atmosphere.
