HEO has raised $25 million to expand its satellite imaging capabilities into geostationary orbit, increasing the company’s ability to collect and deliver imagery from a strategically important orbital regime.
The Space Development Agency is opening a competition worth up to $369 million to expand worldwide ground infrastructure supporting its low Earth orbit constellation of missile-warning and tracking satellites. The contract would extend the terrestrial architecture needed to operate and exploit the proliferated space-based network.
Belgian satellite manufacturer Aerospacelab returned to profitability early this year after reporting a €17.75 million loss on €14.6 million in 2025 sales. CEO Benoit Deper attributed the improvement to diverse component contracts and limited production of complete satellites, ahead of its potential role in the €2.5 billion Iris2 program.

GHGSat’s second-generation satellite is designed to detect methane emissions with twice the sensitivity of the Canadian company’s original spacecraft while doubling monitoring capacity. The upgrade strengthens the firm’s ability to identify and track methane sources from orbit, supporting emissions measurement and climate-monitoring efforts.

The European Defence Fund has backed EOBLINDING, a €6 million European consortium led by Integrasys to develop a system for tracking and temporarily disrupting Earth-observation satellites. The project adds a counter-surveillance capability to Europe’s growing focus on space-based security and defense technologies.
Valour Consultancy forecasts that Amazon Leo, Amazon’s satellite connectivity network, will serve more than 5,000 commercial and business aviation aircraft by 2035. The projection points to a potentially significant aviation market for satellite-enabled onboard connectivity over the next decade.
