Saab says CAE, IMP Aerospace and Magellan Aerospace would support production, final assembly, aerostructures manufacturing, training and sustainment in Canada if Ottawa selects its Gripen E/F fighter offer. The proposal would establish domestic fighter production and long-term support, but the roles are contingent on Canada choosing the Swedish aircraft.

Built through the Saab-Embraer partnership for Brazil’s air force, the aircraft is the first Gripen produced outside Sweden; the flight tested key systems and validated its flight characteristics.
