Canada’s F-35A acquisition cost nearly doubles to C$33 billion amid pilot shortfall

Canada’s plan to acquire 88 Lockheed Martin F-35A jets will see costs soar to more than C$33 billion (US$24 billion), nearly double the C$19 billion estimate, according to the Auditor General. The report also flags critical pilot shortages and infrastructure delays threatening the fighter program.
