ICAO Council elects Japan's Toshiyuki Onuma as President — three-year term begins 1 Jan 2026
The International Civil Aviation Organization's 36-member Council elected Japan's Toshiyuki Onuma as its new President for a three-year term beginning 1 January 2026. Onuma, Japan's representative, replaces Salvatore Sciacchitano after the latter's two terms; he will chair ICAO's governing body through 2028, guiding global regulatory priorities.
