WestJet flight attendants issue (and exchange) 72-hour strike notices with CUPE over unpaid labor and contract impasse
Unionized WestJet cabin crew represented by CUPE 8125 has issued a 72-hour strike notice as contract talks stall, alleging crew are being forced to work “for free.” WestJet responded with its own 72-hour deadline. A strike could begin as early as Aug. 2 amid rising political and public support for the walkout.
