Boeing certification push and 777X delivery strain: FAA boosts B737 MAX/B787 resources as early 777X units draw airline resistan
The FAA has increased resources for Boeing’s certification priorities by 35%–40% and enabled airworthiness certificates for all B737 MAX and B787 aircraft at the end of the production process (effective July 20, 2026). Meanwhile, Emirates president Tim Clark warned early 777X aircraft are “baked bean tins” due to extensive work needed post-production, and Boeing outlined no new narrowbody launch before 2030.
