Air New Zealand resets strategy, defers 787 deliveries to fund premium and punctuality push amid engine-maintenance delays

Air New Zealand says it may not return to full recovery from higher jet-fuel costs and global engine maintenance issues until 2028, attributing interim losses to delivery and repair delays. The airline is implementing its “Te Pae Hou – Our Future” reset, including deferring two Dreamliner deliveries while targeting improved reliability, punctuality and a stronger premium offer.
