JWST discovers new Uranus moon S/2025 U1 — a ~6-mile satellite between Ophelia and Bianca

Using near‑infrared images from the James Webb Space Telescope taken in February, NASA and Southwest Research Institute astronomers identified a new tiny Uranian moon, designated S/2025 U1. Estimated at ~6 miles across, it orbits about 35,000 miles from Uranus between Ophelia and Bianca and awaits IAU naming.
