China will launch the three-astronaut Shenzhou 23 mission to the Tiangong space station on Sunday (May 24, 2026) from Jiuquan on a Chang Zheng 2F, beginning a planned year-long stay. The crew includes Hong Kong’s first astronaut, with the longer-duration flight aimed at studying human physiology in orbit as Beijing targets a crewed lunar landing by 2030.
