Landing is often treated as the defining skill in pilot training, but the ability to recognize an unstable approach and execute a go-around is at least as important. Teaching pilots to go around early—and repeatedly—can make rejected landings a normal, disciplined part of flight operations.
Saab is developing Project Skynapse, an AI-augmented, simulator-based approach intended to “gamify” Gripen fighter training. The effort points to a shift in how combat-aircraft operators could learn and practice, using simulation and artificial intelligence to make training more engaging and adaptive.

Airbus will add an A220 full-flight simulator at its Singapore training center in 2027, supporting operators including Qantas, Korean Air and Air Niugini. The facility is being established as more than 170 A220s await delivery in Asia-Pacific, including 150 aircraft ordered by AirAsia from 2028.
AXIS Flight Simulation is expanding beyond its corporate and regional-airline simulator business with two new helicopter-training devices: a full-motion system and a fixed-base simulator. The initial product lineup will support Airbus and Leonardo helicopter platforms as operators seek additional pilot-training capacity.

United Airlines has completed phase one of its Denver Flight Training Center expansion, adding 40 CAE flight simulators to the world’s largest pilot-training facility. The $145 million investment supports capacity for training up to 860 pilots daily and a facility workforce generating 1,600 direct jobs.
Loft Dynamics is partnering with Kawasaki Heavy Industries to introduce its H145 Multi-Pilot VR Simulator in the Asia-Pacific region. The collaboration will expand access to immersive, multi-pilot helicopter training using virtual-reality simulation technology.
