Riyadh Air makes widebody commitment at Farnborough as defense firms push drones and hybrid-electric autonomy
On day one of Farnborough International Airshow, Riyadh Air confirmed 34 additional widebody aircraft—adding more Airbus A350-1000s and expanding Boeing 787 commitments—months after launching scheduled passenger service. The show also highlighted General Atomics/GA-ASI’s European Gambit production plan, Anduril and GA promoting Collaborative Combat Aircraft, and Archer/Anduril unveiling an Autonomous Thunder hybrid-electric defense drone concept.
