Embraer has long downplayed the prospect of developing a large single-aisle aircraft, even as executives have embraced the perception that the Brazilian manufacturer could design, develop and produce a jet capable of challenging Airbus and Boeing in their core market.

LATAM has selected Curitiba as a maintenance base for its Embraer E195-E2 fleet, creating a dedicated location for supporting the type. The decision links the airline’s regional aircraft operations with local MRO capability in Brazil.
