Nigerian carrier Enugu Air says its Embraer E170LR (5N-ENR) suffered a runway excursion in Benin City on 23 July 2026. The aircraft overran the end of runway 05 during arrival from Lagos; all passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. The airline obtained its own air operator certificate in March.
Abra Group has confirmed a major commitment to Embraer’s E195-E2, with 20 firm aircraft and options for up to 45. The deal underscores how operators are increasingly using regional jets to tailor fleet size and economics to sub-continental market needs.
India’s Alliance Air is reportedly considering an order for Embraer aircraft, a potential step toward fleet renewal and/or capacity expansion in the regional market. The move would signal continued demand for Embraer’s narrowbody and turboprop offerings among Indian regional operators.
