India’s AAIB has identified a near-simultaneous shutdown of both engines seconds after Air India Flight AI171 lifted off from Ahmedabad on June 12. The preliminary report indicates the Boeing 787-8’s fuel control switches were abruptly set from RUN to CUTOFF, causing a rapid thrust loss and fatal crash.
