The National Air Traffic Controllers Association warned that a U.S. government shutdown would stop air traffic controller hiring, effectively pausing FAA recruitment, delaying training pipelines and freezing candidate selection and academy classes, undermining efforts to ease chronic staffing shortages across the national airspace system.
