Finnair grounds eight A321s after cleaning stripped seat-cover fire protection; ~1,700 covers to be replaced

Finnair grounded eight Airbus A321s after a seat-cover manufacturer warned water-based washing may have removed fire-retardant treatment, voiding certification and creating a fire-safety risk. The carrier is replacing about 1,700 covers, appointing new suppliers and plans to return the fleet to service by month-end.
