EU tranche of €3.47B for Ukraine air defenses and drones as F-16s deplete intercept capacity
The EU has disbursed a €3.47 billion ($4 billion) tranche to Ukraine to fund procurement of drones, missiles and air-defense systems, plus Swedish-made Gripen fighter jets. Ukraine says its F-16 fleet has destroyed more than 2,500 one-way drones, but repeated interceptions are wearing the small inventory down amid sustained Russian missile-and-drone attacks.
