NTSB preliminary findings: LaGuardia CRJ-900 runway collision tied to fire-truck tracking and runway-entering timing
The NTSB has issued preliminary findings in its investigation of the March 22 LaGuardia collision involving a Jazz-operated Air Canada Express CRJ-900 and a Port Authority fire truck. Investigators highlighted difficulties tracking the involved vehicle and a closing timeline in which the fire truck entered Runway 4 shortly before impact.
