Alaska Air Group taps $1bn debt as jet-fuel costs spike
Alaska Air Group says elevated global fuel prices will add about $600 million to second-quarter expenses and is borrowing up to $1 billion to manage the impact. The company priced a private offering of senior notes—fully guaranteed by Alaska Airlines and other operating units—using net proceeds for general corporate purposes.
