FAA supply-chain review keeps 737 MAX cap in place as MAX 7/10 certifications slip to 2026

The FAA has not yet received Boeing’s request to lift its 38-plane-per-month 737 MAX output cap, saying it will review supply-chain improvements before acting. Wing-build bottlenecks and engine anti-ice redesigns have pushed MAX 7/10 type certifications into 2026, delaying launch deliveries—Alaska Airlines now expects its first MAX 10 in 2026 or 2027.
