Italy selects Airbus A330 MRTT tanker fleet package worth ~€1.39bn

Italy’s Ministry of Defence has awarded Airbus Defence and Space a European contract to renew, expand and support the Aeronautica Militare’s tanker “Heavy Multi Role” line, including six A330 MRTT aircraft and integrated logistics support (€1.39bn, ~1.4bn). The deal also marks a shift away from an earlier Boeing KC-46/C-17 tanker-related intent following the service’s existing KC-767A fleet.
