Airbus taps MTU CEO Lars Wagner as head of Commercial Aircraft, effective January 1 2026

Lars Wagner, CEO of MTU Aero Engines, will join Airbus in November and assume leadership of its Commercial Aircraft division on January 1, 2026. He succeeds Christian Scherer, retiring after more than 40 years, and will oversee Airbus’s global commercial jetliner programmes, production and sales strategy.
