Airbus Taps MTU’s Lars Wagner as Commercial Aircraft CEO from January 2026

Lars Wagner, currently CEO of MTU Aero Engines, will assume leadership of Airbus’s Commercial Aircraft division on January 1, 2026, succeeding Christian Scherer, who is retiring after more than 40 years with the airframer. Wagner will join Airbus in November ahead of his full-time start.
