Middle East conflict strains aviation, cargo routes and risks over $50bn in remittances to India
The Israel–Iran escalation has prompted Gulf airspace closures and cancellations, erasing roughly 4.4 million airline seats and about 20,000 flights while forcing longer, higher‑fuel cargo routings. Carriers and forwarders warn of rising fares and freight costs as networks scramble to rebook and reroute, and more than $50 billion in remittances to India are at risk.
