U.S. forces used AH-64 Apache and MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopters to sink six Iranian small attack boats during the first day of efforts to clear a defended transit path through the Strait of Hormuz for commercial shipping. Adm. Brad Cooper said Iran was trying to interfere with U.S. operations and that U.S. forces also shot down missiles and drones.
