
Air China A321 diverts to Shanghai after lithium‑ion battery ignites in overhead bin; no injuries
An Air China Airbus A321 on flight CA139 from Hangzhou to Seoul diverted to Shanghai‑Pudong on 18 October after a lithium‑ion battery spontaneously ignited in an overhead bin about 40 minutes into the flight. Crew extinguished the blaze; there were no injuries and the aircraft was grounded for inspection.
