UK approves Heathrow's third‑runway plan and selects it for accelerated ANPS review
The UK government has approved Heathrow Airport Limited’s controversial third‑runway expansion as the preferred scheme for an Airports National Policy Statement review, endorsing a multi‑billion‑pound plan (reported between £33bn–£49bn) it says will boost trade, tourism and jobs and expand capacity by the mid‑2030s.
