FAA approves higher MTOW for Boeing 787-9 and 787-10, unlocking extra payload and range
The FAA certified higher maximum takeoff weights for the Boeing 787-9 and 787-10, adding about 3 and 5 metric tonnes of payload respectively and extending mission range by roughly 400 miles on some sectors. The approvals ease Boeing's certification logjam and give airlines immediate payload and range flexibility.
