GE confident Leap turbofans can match CFM56 durability via high-pressure turbine durability updates
GE Aerospace says its Leap turbofan is on track to reach CFM56-like durability after it implements high-pressure turbine updates aimed at fixing a heat-induced durability problem. The updates are designed to address the engine’s worst-case thermal degradation under normal operations to protect operator economics.
