India carriers warn of potential shutdown as ATF prices surge; FIA urges government fuel-pricing relief

Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet and other operators represented by the Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) have warned India’s government that soaring Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices are pushing the sector toward “extreme stress” and possible service suspensions. The carriers have asked New Delhi to revise ATF pricing and provide financial support.
