France puts Airbus A400M Atlas into operational wildfire firefighting, using a 20-tonne retardant drop kit

The French Air Force has assigned an A400M Atlas equipped with a newly developed water/retardant drop system to real wildfire suppression operations in Gironde. The aircraft can release up to 20 tonnes of retardant, marking the first operational use of the modified transport for firefighting as wildfires spread across parts of France.
